When you have a lead on a team, you hold them down till they stop thinking they have a chance to come back. As in when you are drowning someone, you hold them under water till there are no more bubbles...
This actually came up with Messiah at Trouble in Vegas two years ago. We were loosing badly to Chico State at half time (7-1). I told the team I did not care if we lost the game, but I wanted us to put effort into the game, at least struggle. And I said I wanted to see some bubbles! We actually played really well in the second half, and closed the score 11-10, when time ran out and we lost. Another minute, we would have pulled with a chance to tie, ugh.
So it in now in Messiah lore. When we have a lead, we don't want to see bubbles, and when we are losing to a better team, we want to make lots of bubbles even if we are going to lose.

What do you mean by "bubbles"?
